R.I.P. Sweet girl, forever in our thoughts, now at peace with Baxter
Hi we are Acutestaff SBT consisting of myself Karen, my husband Alan, my two children Jordan(13) and Jamie(10) and our family of SBT who I shall introduce you to in a bit.

We live on the South Coast in Hampshire. We started out with our first Staffordshire Bull Terrier in 1993.   He was a Brindle & White Dog called "Baxter" (Brindle Beatnik).   We then purchased a Brindle Pied Bitch in 1997 called "Polly" (My Little Lovelly).   Sadly Baxter passed away on 4th March 2004 aged 10.5 years and Polly passed away on 24th November 2008 aged 11 years 6 months and 3 weeks.   R.I.P. my babies, look after each other.

We decided in May that we just couldn't live without another Dog so we picked out "Sidney" (Acute Finish For Acutestaff) from Polly's breeder on May 16th aged 4 days and brought him home in July.   Sidney sadly broke his leg and caught Parvo at the age of 5.5 months.   It was touch and go but he survived.

We decided on the spur of the moment to start showing Sidney in August 2006 when he was 2.   His first show was The City of Portsmouth Open Show and Christine Kerrigan was the Judge.   Sidney entered 2 classes and gained a reserve in each.   From that day we caught the bug.   Sidney retired from showing in September 2008 as he started to get cramp in his leg. He is now a couch potato as showing was not really his thing.

In November 2006 we applied for and was granted our Affix   "ACUTESTAFF".   My friend Jo from Pirihonga thought up the name, thanks Jo.   We also decided to add to our family and so brought home a Black Brindle & White Bitch called "Misty" (Who Da Thought It Of Acutestaff).   Misty started her show career in May 2007 and has done very well to date being placed in nearly every show in the 1st 4.   She was one place of qualifying for Crufts 2008.   Hopefully if we keep working hard at showing she might make it for 2009.   Misty was The Downlands S.B.T. Club Top Bitch for 20072008 missing being overall Top SBT for 2007 by 2 points and was joint Top SBT for 2008.   Misty shall be mated in 2009 depending on her seasons when she will benearly 3 years old.

We decided again in May that we wanted to add another to the family and so in June along came a Dark Brindle & White Bitch called "Chilli" (Winzack She'll Do Nicely For Acutestaff).   Chill entered the show ring aged 7 Months and has been placed a few times.   Alan showed her for the first time in Jan 08 and they gained 3rd place.   Chilli is now back home   Chilli has settled back in brilliantly considering she has been away for 8 months. She goes for walks on a double lead with Misty and plays with both Sidney & Yogi.   There is no aggression there at all from any dog.   She needs to lose a little weight as she weighs in at 18.8kg and get fitter before we shall start showing her again. Chilli is now down to 16kg.

As we are hoping to show one of Misty's babies next year and due to unfortunate circumstances regarding the Stud dog we planned for Chilli next year we have decided to breed Chilli this year.   Although the vet said Chilli had already had her season she came into season in May. We decided after considerable thought and discussion to breed from her this year with our boy Sidney so that we would have 2 to show next year.   This way we can concentrate on showing the pups rather than taking another year out having a litter. Chilli had her babies on 11/07/09, she had 4 boys and 3 girls.   We shall be keeping a girl back and will if she proves suitable bring her out in Jan 2010 to show.

Alan wanted us to get another to show as January 2010 before we could show one of Misty's babies.   We were going to get another girl but the litter we went to see had 1 boy who was supposed to be going to Spain.   This wasn't to be and so at the end of August 2008 we brought home our new Black Brindle boy called "Yogi" (Two Sons In The Sunset With Acutestaff).   Yogi is out of CH Marstaff Dragon Lives on and Marstaff Lost In Music.   All being well he will start his show career in January 2009.

We would like to thank Donna MacDonald for Polly & Sidney, Jackie & Wayne Skelton for Misty and Andy & Julie Land for Chilli.   A huge thanks go to Mark & Becky Marshall (Marstaff) for passing us on to Kelly & Bob who bred Yogi with a lot of help from Mark.   We would also like to thank everyone who has helped and advised us along the way.   Special thanks to Mr Alan Hedges(Ramblix) for his input on Misty and to think enough of her to award her   a 4th in a strong Junior class(25) and also 1st places in at Southern Counties Champ Show in Oct '07 and Tony Moran for awarding Misty 2nd in Yearling, 1st in Post Graduate & 2nd in Limit thus gaining her Stud Book Number and qualifying for Crufts for life at Paignton Champ Show Aug 2008. We have travelled far and wide all over England, Wales and now as far as Scotland.   Hopefully next year we might make Ireland.   We have covered since January approx 19,000 miles of travelling for shows. We have travelled far and wide all over England, Wales and now as far as Scotland.   Hopefully next year we might make Ireland.   We think Misty must be one of the most travelled dogs and she loves it.
